The Retreat Center offers 108 guest rooms, with a range of single, double, deluxe, and apartment sized accommodations. Enjoy our bookstore with a focus on yoga, health, and meditation products, or relax in our cafe offering a variety of snacks, teas, and coffee. Our on-site Wellness Center offers guests various services including massage, yoga therapy, biofeedback, and one-on-one consultations with our holistic and integrative medical staff.

A space for every event

Presenters have the choice to utilize several styles of meeting space and virtually unlimited outdoor space to meet their event-hosting needs. From seating over 200 to an intimate gathering of 10, we have a space that is ideal for you. Special services include livestreaming or digitally recording your event, which means reaching your student base has never been easier. Check out our newest teaching space, the Horizon Room—comfortably accommodating up to 35 guests.

The Auditorium’s standard setup includes three different style options and can hold 100 mats comfortably. The rental of the space can include: tables, chairs, yoga props (blankets, bolsters, pillows, mats, etc.), and a white board. Presenters will also have access to a table and chair setup, complete with a water pitcher and glasses for each session. Audiovisual capabilities are available with a lavalier microphone and a digital projector with a drop-down screen on stage. This room also has Internet livestream capabilities.

The Seminar Room’s standard setup includes the choice of three style options, and can hold 40–50 yoga mats easily. The rental of the space can include tables, chairs, yoga props (blankets, bolsters, pillows, mats, etc.), and a white board. The presenter will also have access to a table and chair setup, complete with a water pitcher and glasses for each session. Available audiovisual presentation equipment includes a lavalier microphone and a digital projector with an adjustable screen. Digital audio and video recording options are available upon request.

Ideal for gatherings up to 40, the Sunrise Room is perfect for practice or lecture-based events. Located on the second floor of the Main Building, this meeting space faces east, capturing spectacular views of the sunrise over the back campus corridor. This room’s standard setup encompasses three different style options to choose from, and can hold up to 30 yoga mats comfortably. The rental of the space can include: tables, chairs, yoga props (blankets, bolsters, pillows, mats, etc.), and a white board. The presenter will also have access to a table and chair setup, complete with a water pitcher and glasses for each session. Audiovisual presentation equipment is available upon request.

Ideal for gatherings up to 35, the Horizon Room is perfect for practice or lecture-based events. The Sunset Room is ideal for intimate groups and small gatherings of up to 30 guests. Facing the west side of the campus, overlooking the front lawn area, this space offers exceptional sunset views. This room’s standard setup encompasses three different style options to choose from, and can hold up to 20 yoga mats comfortably. The rental of the space can include: tables, chairs, yoga props (blankets, bolsters, pillows, mats, etc.), and a white board. The presenter will also have access to a table and chair setup, complete with a water pitcher and glasses for each session. Audiovisual presentation equipment is available upon request.

Example Yoga Practice Skills Practicums
  • Fundamentals of Diaphragmatic Breathing—This practicum shares a broad context of the power of breath in yoga, introduces the relationship between breath and prana, and teaches the fundamentals of diaphragmatic breathing and breath awareness in familiar postures.
  • Meditation in 5 Easy Steps—A systematic approach to begin or refine a meditation practice in five easy steps. Practicum includes instruction for a comfortable seated posture and postures for back strength.
Example Yoga Lifestyle Skills Practicum
  • Cleansing and Your Health—These cleansing practices were traditionally used to prepare the aspirant for yoga practice and were once highly secret and prescribed and taught individually by an accomplished teacher. Learn the main cleansing practices and practical strategies to incorporate into daily life.

Chai Party

Himalayan Institute chai has become somewhat legendary amongst our guests, and for this reason, the Chai Party has become the most popular event add-on. Your Chai Party includes one gallon of chai and your choice of a dozen homemade cookies or a seasonal fruit bowl. Cookie choices include chocolate chip, peanut butter, chyawanprash, and wilderness.

Gluten-free and vegan options are available upon request for an additional cost. Please also let us know if you have any other allergy or special dietary requirements and our food service professionals will be happy to accommodate your needs. One portion costs $50 and serves 12.

Outdoor Sessions

Forest Pavilion

Located just behind the Haven and overlooking the Red Trail. This unique outdoor space has been home to many great discussions, asana practices, and special intimate group gatherings. Available for reservation in full hour increments.

Sunset Pond Campfire

Campfires by the pond are a great way to spend an evening, and enjoy the beauty of the night sky under the stars. Available for reservation in full hour increments, includes Himalayan Institute staff to care for the fire.

Adventure Programs

Adventure programs are brought to you in partnership with avid outdoorsman Paul Mang. Choose from a variety of outdoor adventures in the neighboring area. Activities vary by season and are available year round. Examples of seasonal activities include:

Spring–Fall: Kayaking, biking, and guided nature hikes
Winter: Snowshoeing

Other Activities

Two Hour Guided Nature Hike

Our guide will assist you in learning about the native trees, birds, and animals that thrive on our campus and groomed hiking trails. You will explore one of our four groomed hiking trails—that can include the pond, a hike by a creek, through fields, an apple orchard or through the almost 400 acres of forest on our property. Closed toed shoes, water, sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellent are recommended.

Volunteer Projects

Volunteer projects may be available for your students to participate in and requires a discussion with our Volunteer Coordinator four weeks in advance.
