Dr. Eugene Joyce

Dr. Eugene Joyce has a background in psychology from La Salle University in Philadelphia. Before graduating from New York Chiropractic College in 1994, Dr. Joyce trained extensively in massage and bodywork techniques in New York City. He has studied with the masters at the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy, the New York School of Shiatsu and Reflexology, studied with Ilana Rubenfeld and her Synergy Method, Reiki, Polarity, Myofascial Release, and Trigger Point Therapy, as well as Structural Integration techniques with Joseph Heller, who ran the Rolf Institute and created Hellerwork.

Dr. Joyce began studying yoga in 1978 and began teaching at the Himalayan Institute in New York City in 1984. He was on the executive board of the East-West Center for Holistic Studies in NYC. Dr. Joyce was the founder and director of the Willow Tree Yoga Studio from 2005 to 2010. Dr. Joyce has continued to teach yoga and meditation to his students and patients since that time.

Dr. Joyce has extensive experience in athletic training and exercise and rehabilitative science. He was a national YMCA record holder as well as a high school All-American in swimming. He has worked with elite runners at the New York City Runners Club as well as working with dancers at The American Ballet Theater and avant-garde dance troupes at New York City's The Kitchen and LaMama theaters. He has post-doctoral training in functional neurology and functional medicine.

Dr. Joyce has created the system of Body Synergy Therapy, which is the culmination of decades of synthesizing multiple techniques and systems of evaluation into a unique approach to healing the systems of the body and restoring balance to the body, mind, heart, and soul.
