Maggie Durbas

Margaret Durbas, AHC, E-RYT 500, founded Journey of Yoga LLC in 2004 to inspire health and happiness through the practice of yoga and ayurveda.

Maggie is a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor and has been working with ayurveda since 2012. Her yoga classes are inspired by ayurveda and students benefit from nutritional and lifestyle guidelines as well as learning poses that provide balance to their constitutions.

She has taught more than 50 students in JOY’s 200-hour yoga teacher trainings since 2012, and more than half of them have gone on to become compassionate, knowledgeable, and nurturing teachers. Maggie creates intelligently sequenced flowing classes that are fun, challenging, safe, engaging, supportive, and spiritual. This holistic, supportive, and light-hearted approach will give you a great workout yet leave you feeling relaxed and renewed. Her teaching style has been influenced by numerous teachers, enabling an open and never dogmatic approach.

Maggie trained and received her certification as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA. She completed her 200-hour teacher training at Embodyoga with Patty Townsend in Amherst, and also completed a 300-hour teacher training program in the ParaYoga lineage with Sue Neufeld and Kathryn Templeton.
