Turn to a trusted source for in-depth training, inspiration, and support for your professional journey and personal practice. Our program offers yoga teachers from all traditions advanced studies with personalized refinements of teaching methods, sequencing strategies, verbal and hands-on assists, and practical application of subtle body anatomy in asana teaching. Deepen your understanding of classic limbs of yoga practice, and develop techniques for teaching pranayama, sense withdrawal, and meditation. Explore therapeutic applications of yoga for mental and physical well-being; and study the Yoga Sutra, Bhagavad Gita and other seminal texts in detail. This is a comprehensive program designed to address the individual needs of participants, and support teachers as they develop skills and expertise in yoga theory and practice.

This program is presented in three 10-day segments offered each year in the spring, summer, and fall (scroll down for descriptions). Participants may take up to three years to complete all three segments, which may be taken in any order. To receive certification, participants must also submit a teaching log of 100 hours taught from the date of their 200-hour certification. This is a Yoga Alliance requirement.

Prerequisite: 200-hour teacher certification from an accredited yoga school

Tuition per session: $1099

Accommodations are not included. Program begins at 6:30 am on the start date. Accommodations will need to begin one day prior to the start date.

The Heart of Yoga Philosophy: The Yoga Sutra and Advanced Teaching Methods

  • In-depth study of the Yoga Sutra
  • Sanskrit, prayers, and chants
Summer Segment

Awakening the Subtle Body: Explore Chakras, Prana Vayus, Pranayama, and Meditation

Included in this segment:

  • Explore chakras with asana
  • Pranayama and prana vayus in theory and practice
  • The art of sequencing
  • The Bhagavad Gita and other texts of the tradition
  • Advanced meditation techniques
  • Sanskrit, prayers, and chants
Fall Segment

Yoga as a Healing Art: Physical and Psychological Strategies for Cultivating Wellness

Included in this segment:

  • The role of breath and pranic energy in healing
  • Yoga psychology and philosophy to support mental health
  • Mental strategies for coping with pain and suffering
  • Yoga for common structural complaints
  • Physiology and therapeutic approach to specific illnesses
  • Therapeutic teaching skills
