Ayurvedic Rejuvenation: A Traditional Approach
Do we have to age? Ayurveda says no. Is it possible to retain vitality and regain our youth? Ayurveda says yes. As Pandit Rajmani Tigunait explains in this previously unreleased lecture from 1997, the traditional science of ayurveda goes back thousands of years and has roots in the ancient scriptures. Its model is one of health and rejuvenation rather than disease and cure. Ayurveda draws on a blend of practical (diet, sleep, exercise) and esoteric (alchemy, energetics, mantra) knowledge to help us achieve kaya kalpa—renewal of the body, at whatever stage in life we are. In this video, Panditji draws on authentic sources such as Netra Tantra, Rudra Yamala, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and Svacchanda Tantra to demystify ayurveda’s key concepts, including rasayana, doshas, and dhatus. The yogis believed that a healthy body helps us prolong our life, not just so we can enjoy more sensual pleasures, but also so we can achieve the highest goal of life—our true purpose. Watch, and learn what this spiritual science can teach us about longevity! Format: Video with audio download Length: 1 hr

The Emotional Life of Pain
“Ours is a culture that views pain as a physical condition and encourages us to cure it by swallowing a pill. Women’s Health: An Ayurvedic Perspective
Integrating the teachings of ayurveda into our daily life can yield tremendous health benefits at every level of our being. In considering women’s health from an ayurvedic perspective, it is important to first understand the spiritual and philosophical foundations of this vast body of knowledge, and then create a plan to integrate ayurveda’s practical teachings to gain greater self-awareness, health, and well-being. Ayurveda draws on the more holistic Eastern approach to healing that acknowledges symptoms while also exploring aspects of life such as diet and lifestyle and how they can greatly enhance the restoration of optimal health and well-being. In this view, symptoms serve as an invitation to assess what is occurring below the surface, and with that awareness, bring about lasting change and long-term healing. In this engaging livestream with ayurvedic practitioner and yoga teacher Kathryn Templeton, learn how the seasons of life apply to women’s health—from the onset of menses, through the reproductive years, and beyond to the wisdom years. Kathryn will offer diet and lifestyle recommendations to support health and well-being at each stage, including specific asana and pranayama practices, tips for enhancing digestion, and recipes for supportive herbal teas and oils.
