Welcome To 500-Hour Teacher Certification

Congratulations on your acceptance into the Himalayan Institute 500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program!
The tuition for the Teacher Training program is $1599 per segment which includes your non-refundable application fee of $108, all books and materials, accommodations including meals and housing, and a 1-year Premium Membership to the Himalayan Institute. Premium Membership offers you 24/7 access to the Himalayan Institute’s growing library of on-demand content, and free tuition to most Himalayan Institute weekend seminars.
If you did not prepay in full, there are two options for payment:
- Option 1: Pay the remaining balance of $1491 in full with check or credit card.
- Option 2: Make a $500 deposit, followed by monthly payments between now and the start date of your program.
We recommend you register a minimum 8 weeks in advance, as our rooms are offered on a first come, first serve basis.

For each segment, the program begins with a Friday morning yoga class at 6:30am, so please plan to arrive on Thursday evening. The program ends on Sunday at 12:30 pm.

- Read Moving Inward: The Journey to Meditation by Rolf Sovik.
- Listen to and practice the following methods of relaxation from the two relaxation CD’s
by Rolf Sovik: Method 1: systematic relaxation, Method 4: point to point breathing, and
the 61 points exercise.
The Cd’s, Guided Yoga Relaxations and Advanced Yoga Relaxations, are available through our website and mail order, and are also downloadable from iTunes.
We also highly recommend reading Yoga: Mastering the Basics by Sandra Anderson and Rolf
Sovik.
