We are pleased to offer a new and enhanced advanced teacher training program in three ten-day segments (Spring, Summer, Fall). This program is a fully integrated training designed to explore yoga in depth and address the individual needs of participants. The revised format will include a new segment on the healing and therapeutic applications of yoga.

The 500-Hour Yoga Teacher training is available to yoga teachers of all traditions who want to further their study and deepen their practice and teaching. The program includes advanced studies in the following topics: teaching methods, asana, pranayama, meditation and mantra, Sanskrit, subtle body anatomy, yoga texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras, and the healing and therapeutic applications of yoga.

This unit begins where our AYS training left off in the process of nutrition, digestion and assimilation. We’ll begin with new ideas about agni. For example, when buddhikara agni or reasoning capacity is low we experience buddhihara or indecision and loose discriminative power. We will revisit the six stages of digestion and work in depth with rasa, virya and vipaka to deepen our understanding of how digestion becomes imbalanced and creates ama and eventually disease.
