HI Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist Graduates Only!

Become an Advanced Practice HI Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist

The Himalayan Institute is pleased to offer a new learning track for AYS graduates to refine their work with individual students and clients. The Advanced Practice HI AYS Training Program is designed to support your learning and assimilation of the ayurvedic application of diet, lifestyle, asana, pranayama, meditation, and rejuvenative rasayanas.

You will be listed on the Himalayan Institute’s website as an Advanced Practice HI AYS Graduate, an exclusive privilege, and on KathrynTempleton.com. Refer to these listings in your online and business marketing!

Complete the following program components over a 2-year time period to become an Advanced Practice HI AYS Graduate.

Beginning in October 2012, monthly case study teleconferences are scheduled with Kathryn Templeton. These calls provide a discussion format for case reviews of real client cases and will actively support you as you grow and sharpen your clinical skills.

  1. Participate in 10 monthly case study teleconferences.
    (Submit a minimum of 2 cases over the 2-year period.)
  2. Complete 2 advanced practice HI AYS weekend seminars at the HI Honesdale campus.
  3. Complete a full clinical write up on a client case.

Monthly Case Study Teleconferences

Beginning in October 2012, monthly case study teleconferences are scheduled with Kathryn Templeton. These calls provide a discussion format for case reviews of real client cases and will actively support you as you grow and sharpen your clinical skills.

  • You can choose to participate as a listener or present a case of your own.
      To present, download a Client Review Form here and submit
      to Kathryn Templeton before call.
  • You are required to submit a minimum of 2 cases for review before graduation.

The sessions will be 2 hours long and there will opportunities for all to ask questions as they pertain to themes in one of three areas:

  • Vata, pitta, kapha imbalances
  • Issues related to sattva, rajas, and tamas
  • Assessment and support of the vital essences (prana, tejas, and ojas)

  • April 25, 2013 (12:30pm – 2:30pm)
  • May 14, 2013 (7:00pm – 9:00pm)
  • May 20, 2013 (12:30pm – 2:30pm)
  • June 19, 2013 (7:00pm – 9:00pm)
  • June 25, 2013 (12:30pm – 2:30pm)
  • July 18, 2013 (12:30pm – 2:30pm)
  • July 24, 2013 (7:00pm – 9:00pm)
  • August 6, 2013 (7:00pm – 9:00pm)
  • August 15, 2013 (12:30pm – 2:30pm)

$110 per call or $499 for five calls

Upon registration, an intake form will be e-mailed to you to indicate your participation either as a listener or case presenter. Paid calls are valid for up to 2 years.

Clinical Write-Up on a Client Case

Demonstrate your range of knowledge–both theoretical and experiential.
This will be your final examination and will be fully reviewed by you, Kathryn Templeton, and other pertinent HI faculty.
