Dedicated to a tradition of excellence in teaching for more than 37 years, the Himalayan Institute offers yoga teachers comprehensive and systematic training in classical yoga. We teach yogic techniques for body, breath, mind, and spirit in 200-hour and 500-hour certification programs. Our programs include meditation, asana instruction, training in pranayama and relaxation techniques, therapeutic yoga, and yoga philosophy and psychology. The Himalayan Institute is a registered school with Yoga Alliance, meeting the requirement for national registration at both the 200- and 500-hour levels.

Whether you are aspiring to deepen your own personal practice or to become a certified yoga teacher, the Himalayan Institute’s nine-month intensive Teacher Training Program, presented by Synergy Yoga Studio, is designed to provide you with the solid foundations for hatha yoga theories and practice. The program begins September 14th, and takes place in Synergy’s warm, nurturing environment at Three Chopt Center near Innsbrook. The school meets the standards and guidelines of the National Yoga Alliance, allowing graduates to nationally register as 200-hour yoga teachers at the completion of the program (RYT 200).

Non-contact requirements for certification include: reading, meditation journal, change of lifestyle journal, supervised teaching experience with self-evaluation reports, and exams. Incorporating traditional yoga theory and the modern knowledge of the body and mind, the student will emerge as an effective yoga teacher and practitioner.

We’re honored to work directly with the Himalayan Institute Teachers Association to offer their 200 Hour Yoga Alliance qualified curriculum. This year, their Senior faculty will be teaching 3 of the weekend workshops in Wilmington; no need to travel out of town to complete your certification. In addition, all 11 required books, the HITA teacher training manual, and Premium Membership to the Himalayan Institute for one full year, are included in the tuition!

Cancellations/Refunds:
If you cancel 24 hours or more prior to your arrival date all monies will be refunded in full, less the $108 application fee plus the remaining $392 deposit. A refund is not available if you cancel on the workshop’s start date, if you do not show up, or if you leave an event early for any reason. The Himalayan Institute reserves the right to substitute faculty for any event and to cancel any program at any time. Upon cancellation, you will be given a complete refund.
