Both the Lotus Sutra, a major Mahayana Buddhist text, and the slightly older Yoga Sutras, a foundational yoga text, are revered as scriptures for all people, regardless of sect or creed.
The Lotus Sutra shows us how to relinquish attachment to one’s ego and to the world, practice kindness and compassion, and live without attachment or ill will. Similarly, the Yoga Sutras show us how to transcend personal interest, control the disturbances and modifications of the mind, and meditate on the essence of the Self.
This seminar will explore the parallels between the Lotus Sutra and the Yoga Sutras, while focusing on how we can incorporate their teachings in our personal practice and daily lives. For more information about your stay, please click here for Guest Information, and here for Directions.
