The 10-day meditation slot includes 2 Weekend Seminars and a 4-day Intensive.
OCTOBER 24-26: WEEKEND SEMINAR Ayurveda in Daily Practice.
Study the science of health and longevity (ayur + veda) rather than sickness. In this practical, down-to-earth seminar and workshop, learn techniques to eat, sleep, and breathe well; learn the dynamics of cleansing and energizing your body; and minimize the need for modern-day drugs and medications which come with a long chain of complications.
Major topics include:
- The three dhatus: the three-fold sources of nourishment
- The three doshas: the three-fold sources of disease
- The three prakritis: the three-fold body and mind types
- Diet and nutrition and dietary practices you can use in your daily life
- Ayurvedic herbs and spices to integrate into your cooking and daily diet
- Simple recipes to cleanse and heal yourself with unique combinations of fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products and spices
OCTOBER 27-30: 4–DAY INTENSIVE Ayurveda in Daily Practice.
The intensive consists of an evening program, beginning at 7:30 or 8:00 pm. The daytime hours include morning classes and free time for meditation, study, exercise, rest and invitation to karma yoga.
OCTOBER 31–NOVEMBER 2: WEEKEND SEMINAR Yoga Sadhana - A Journey Toward Personal Spiritual Practice.
Study and practice the key components of yoga practice and meditation and develop a personal practice for spiritual discipline (sadhana) that suits your needs. A combination of discussion and lecture, workshop, and guided practice will help you clarify your goals, overcome obstacles to a clear, calm, and tranquil mind, and refine techniques for working with the vital energy of the body, mastering the nervous system, and developing inner focus and concentration.
We will work with:
- asana and pranayama to tap the mysterious energy buried in the body and nervous system
- relaxation techniques and breath awareness to begin the inward journey to Self
- and mantra and meditation practice to connect to the deep pool of intrinsic well-being and bliss in the cave of the heart.
