The highest and most subtle practices of hatha yoga are those that enhance and direct prana—the practices of pranayama.  Prana enables the sensing of the external world as well as empowers the activities of the mental world.  Pranayama is the greatest gift of hatha yoga.  Explore your own practice and develop teaching skills for the master pranayama practices. 

Topics include:

  • The five pranas
  • Basic anatomy of the subtle body
  • Laying the foundation for pranayama practice
  • Asana to facilitate pranayama
  • Teaching the key pranayama techniques (teachers workshop only)  

Note: Hours accumulated in this advanced training for yoga teachers are applicable to the Himalayan Institute Teachers Association 500 Hour Certification Program. Attendance at all sessions is required. Classs will begin at 7:30 pm.
