The 10-day meditation slot includes 2 Weekend Seminars and a 4-day Intensive.
OCTOBER 17-19: WEEKEND SEMINAR Yoga for 50+: Returning to Your Real Self.
The 50's can be the most productive stage of life, provided we know how to manage the changes that naturally occur at this age. The potentials are enormous, but few of us know how to take advantage of them. A series of experiences, some accompanied by success and others by failure, contributed to our maturity. But lacking inner wisdom, all we see is an aging body and a slowing mind.
In this seminar, we’ll explore the opportunities that are available only after we enter the 50's. You have the time, and we have the tools. With this wonderful chemistry, you can do what you may have postponed for many years—live with purpose and meaning, and restore the agility of your body, the clarity of your mind, and the inner joy of the soul—all prime reasons we are born.
Main topics include:
- Diet and nutrition during the significant metabolic and hormonal shifts of the 50's
- Simple and effective practices of yoga unique to the Himalayan Tradition, which keep your joints, glands, nervous system, and motor organs healthy and strong
- Special techniques for keeping your lower back, hips, abdominal region, and navel center active, flexible, productive, and energetic
- A meditative method that connects your mind with your heart, empowering you with the wisdom to gradually eliminate the complaints in your life
OCTOBER 20-23: 4–DAY INTENSIVE Yoga for 50+: Returning to Your Real Self.
The intensive consists of an evening program, beginning at 7:30 or 8:00 pm. The daytime hours include morning classes and free time for meditation, study, exercise, rest and invitation to karma yoga.
OCTOBER 24-26: WEEKEND SEMINAR Ayurveda in Daily Practice.
Study the science of health and longevity (ayur + veda) rather than sickness. In this practical, down-to-earth seminar and workshop: learn techniques to eat, sleep, and breathe well; learn the dynamics of cleansing and energizing your body; and minimize the need for modern-day drugs and medications, which come with a long chain of complications.
Major topics include:
- The three prakritis: the three-fold body and mind types
- The three dhatus: the three-fold sources of nourishment
- The three doshas: the three-fold sources of disease
- Diet, nutrition, and dietary practices you can use in your daily life
